Mexico City, Mexico, September 22, 2022 – Manchester City’s international charity initiative, Cityzens Giving, and Official Water Technology Partner, Xylem, are delighted to announce the expansion of Xylem Water Heroes Academy, a worldwide initiative in ten cities using the ability of soccer to deal with local water challenges.
Since its launch in 2021, Xylem Water Heroes Academy has engaged over 75 younger leaders and delivered important water schooling to more than 6,000 younger people in five cities: São Paulo, Mumbai, Cape Town, New York City and Shanghai. The expanded network, which now additionally contains youth-led tasks in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Cape Coast, Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, aims to positively impact 20,000 more younger folks over the next 4 years.

More than 20 million residents wouldn’t have enough water to drink for almost half the yearand one in 5 individuals have access to just a few hours of working water from their taps per week.
This challenge will see Young Leaders from love.fútbol use specially tailored football video games to coach young individuals locally on responsible water consumption, as well as the importance of safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
Zabaleta took half in a youth-led soccer and water pageant and engaged in a Q&A session with younger individuals, earlier than studying a traditional Mexican dance.
